Job Title: Safety Manager
Location:- Hidadi
Minimum 8 years in factory. Minimum 4 years as Safety Professional
Preference to FMCG/Food /Beverage Industry
Job Objective: To drive safety initiatives in the plant, ensuring compliance with company and statutory safety requirements for the site, and building a sustainable culture of safety.
Job Responsibilities:
- Safety Risk Assessment/Emergency Plan:
- Train functional stakeholders on various Risk Assessment tools (FMEA, CTI/THA, Location/Equipment Risk Assessment, What-If Analysis, HAZOP).
- Hand-hold functional stakeholders to conduct Risk Assessment and ensure the highest quality.
- Coach Safety Exec to prepare the site Emergency plan.
- Actively participate in Emergency Mock-Drills.
- Conduct annual reviews of Risk Assessment & Emergency Plan.
- Hazard Identification & Mitigation/Accident Investigation:
- Lead hazard identification and mitigation efforts.
- Conduct accident investigations as required.
- Safety Culture Building:
- Analyze behaviors of plant personnel toward safety and devise strategies for behavior change.
- Lead actions on disciplinary issues.
- Devise reward & recognition schemes to promote safe behaviors.
- Training:
- Decide safety training strategy for the site.
- Coach Safety Exec/HR team in preparing safety training calendars.
- Conduct safety training for Workmen, Execs, Managers & contractual employees.
- Devise a system for conducting safety briefings to all contractual employees.
- Statutory Compliances:
- Ensure overall safety-related statutory compliances for the site.
- Deal with Factory Inspector and build a positive rapport.
- Prepare a list of all statutory requirements related to safety and develop a tracking mechanism.
- Establish and conduct routine meetings for the site Safety Committee as per Factory’s Act.
- Internal Audits:
- Develop a calendar for conducting safety audits in the plant.
- Coach Safety Exec to develop safety audit checklists.
- Highlight key audit findings to site leadership and ensure closure with functional stakeholders.
- Devise a system for spotting and reporting hazards, ensuring mitigation.
- Ensure compliance with accident reporting and investigation protocols.
- Safety Budget/Capex:
- Prepare safety budget for the factory and ensure spending within budget.
- Lead in deciding infrastructure/other safety-related Capex projects.
- Raise capital proposals for safety-related projects.
Job Requirement:
- Education: Minimum B. Tech/BE – Mechanical/Industrial/Production/Chemical Engineering + Diploma in Industrial Safety.
- Work Experience: Minimum 8 years in the factory, with a minimum of 4 years as a safety professional.
- Preference given to candidates with experience in FMCG/Food/Beverage Industry.
