We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Data Scientist specializing in route optimization and time series analysis. In this role, you will be responsible for developing advanced algorithms and models to optimize route planning and improve efficiency for our organization. You will leverage your expertise in time series analysis to derive insights and build predictive models for forecasting and decision-making purposes.
Responsibilities:
Develop and implement route optimization algorithms to improve efficiency and reduce costs in transportation and logistics operations.
Apply statistical and machine learning techniques to analyze time series data and extract meaningful insights.
Build predictive models for forecasting time-dependent variables, such as demand patterns, travel times, and resource utilization.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, understand business needs, and translate them into data science solutions.
Clean, preprocess, and wrangle complex data sets to ensure their quality and suitability for analysis.
Design and conduct experiments to validate models and algorithms, ensuring their accuracy and robustness.
Communicate findings, insights, and recommendations to stakeholders in a clear and concise manner, both verbally and through data visualizations.
Stay up-to-date with the latest research and advancements in route optimization, time series analysis, and data science techniques, incorporating relevant methodologies into your work.
Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior data scientists or analysts within the team.
Collaborate with product teams to integrate data-driven solutions into the organization’s systems and processes.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant field (e.g., Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or related disciplines).
Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Data Scientist, with a focus on route optimization and time series analysis.
Strong expertise in developing and implementing route optimization algorithms and models.
In-depth knowledge of statistical analysis, machine learning, and time series forecasting techniques.
Proficiency in programming languages commonly used in data science, such as Python or R.
Solid understanding of data wrangling, preprocessing, and feature engineering techniques.
Experience working with time series data, including feature extraction, decomposition, and anomaly detection.
Familiarity with data visualization tools and libraries to effectively communicate complex concepts.
Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking skills, with the ability to tackle complex business problems and provide innovative solutions.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and present findings to stakeholders.
Proven track record of delivering data science projects on time and with high quality.
Experience in the transportation, logistics, or related industries is a plus.
Preferred Skills:
Experience with optimization techniques and tools for route planning, such as linear programming or genetic algorithms.
Familiarity with spatial data analysis and geographic information systems (GIS).
Knowledge of database querying languages (e.g., SQL) and working with structured and unstructured data.
Proficiency in data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
Strong publication record or contributions to the data science community.
