YOUR ROLE
Long Term Care Claims Operations is foundational to Genworth’s mission. The data, processes and systems that support this business area are critically important to achieve business results. The Application Developer Analyst will work directly with project, operations, and IT to deliver the highest quality solutions to our customers. This role provides an opportunity to learn about all aspects of Long Term Care Claims Operations.


YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design and execute solutions on the Claims Administration application to support Claims processes
  • Develop, update, and maintain services across different versions of the .Net Framework inclusive of 4.5/.Net Core 3.1+/.Net 5.
  • Interpret, modify, and optimize stored procedures
  • Analyze unexpected results, collaborate to identify root cause and potential solutions
  • Perform refactoring of code, utilizing visualization and other techniques to fast-track concepts, while delivering continuous improvement
  • Partner within the team to support creation of technical/functional test plans and scripts to validate design, development and implement
  • Work closely and proactively communicate with the entire project team as needed to effectively complete software development activities
  • Deliver business value as an individual contributor within an Agile team
  • Adhere to application development standards and guidelines

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree preferably in Computer Science, Information technology, Computer Engineering, or related IT discipline or equivalent experience
  • 2+ years’ experience as Applications Developer working in the .Net framework
  • 2+ years’ experience working with relational databases, SQL/T-SQL statements, PL/SQL procedures, or ETL data transformations
  • Experience in web service development such as SOAP, RESTful, XML, JSON
  • Experience with design patterns includes but not limited to Data Driven Design/Development, Microservices, and Model-View-Controller (MVC)
  • Familiarity with Continuous Integration/Continuous Development (CI/CD) principles and practices
  • Proven ability to develop innovative approaches and solutions to solving design, architectural, and technical issues
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven ability to work independently and as part of team
  • Working knowledge of software development life cycle (SDLC) & Agile methodologies
  • Proven history of detail-oriented execution and commitment to customer satisfaction


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Familiarity with Business Process Management (BPM) software, such as Pega
  • Familiarity with Customer Communication Management software, such as OpenText Exstream
  • Experience in LTC Insurance or Health Insurance Domain
